In Open Source Security Foundation (OpenSSF), we shine a light on those who go above and beyond in enriching our community. The Golden Egg Awards recognize individuals as the driving force behind innovation. More than just a token of appreciation, the Golden Egg symbolizes gratitude for their selfless dedication to securing open source projects through community engagement, engineering, innovation, and thoughtful leadership.
The Golden Egg Award is given to a community member who has been nominated by the OpenSSF community. A panel of judges from the Working Group chairs and Technical Advisory Council (TAC) members will vote to select the award winner from the community’s nominations.
Criteria for Recognition
To be considered for the Golden Egg, nominees will have participated in at least one of three areas: :
Community Technical Contributions:
- Have they consistently and significantly contributed to OpenSSF’s technical initiatives or other security-related open source initiatives?
Community Content:
- Have they written blog posts or played a crucial role in reviewing guest blog entries?
- Have they authored technical guides or comprehensive reports, adding value to the community’s knowledge base?
Community Outreach:
- Have they delivered impactful talks or presentations on technical initiatives?
- Have they actively participated in organizing community events, fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing?
Nomination Period Details
The nomination period starts 27th February 2024. Nominations must be made using this form. The nomination window remains open until March 13, 2024, GMT+0. Following this, a two-week voting period will ensue.
